[b][u]June 19: 2016 Summer Sailstice: [/b]Summer Sailstice is a worldwide celebration of sailing on the weekend closest to the summer solstice. This year we plan to participate on Sunday June 19th. The time has arrived to firm-up plans to join the [b]2016 CHNYC Summer Sailstic[/b]e--[u][b]THIS SUNDAY, 19 JUNE![/b]. We plan to sail/motor/dingy to Potter Cove--directly across from the marina near the NW end of the Newport bridge N41 30'44.08" W71 21'46.19". [b]I plan to depart the marina about 12:00. Let's all try to be in the area between 1:00 and 2:00[/b]. Once everyone arrives we will get together and choose a local moment in time to celebrate the Solstice! Bring a horn or some noise-making device! Bring your boat and some friends plus a beverage or two and something to share. Last year we rafted-up four boats with two other boats nearby. We had a great time! Let's see how many boats we can get together. Maybe we will get some recognition from the nation-wide website. [b]Please RSVP[/b] if you intend to bring your boat.
