R/19 race admin update
About a dozen racers pulled a number out of the Fleet Captain's lottery hat/bag last month and assigned a boat for the summer series. The matching names and numbers have been entered into our scoring program and RM-RC worksheets. I'm please to see that about half of the "boats" have already paid their membership dues and race fees. Most have purchased a "season ticket" through our online $y$tem. Some have even submitted entry/crew waivers online. Thanks to these early-birds. We have another month to complete all of the "paperwork" . . . and stuff that happens ashore.
The race committee has scheduled a race admin & rules review "opportunity" at Topside/o'club after work [1700ish] on Wednesday 17 April. Paper racing/waiver forms will be available at that event - including the Wednesday Series SI [if the USCG maritime event permit has been received]. A draft SI has been posted at our Racing Kiosk race.chnyc.org if you look/search. We'll also discuss changes to the "new" RRS 2013-2016 rules. This is NOT a comprehensive rules seminar [ah-la NorthU] - but our Q&A session will touch on what has changed for our "club" racing.
Our official notice board, notebook and dropbox will be reestablished after the marina/dock office opens in early May.
For those skippers who need a KBS-R qualification, a racing seminar is offered the week of 13 May. This seminar will incorporate an unscored/practice "race" on Wednesday 15 May and spinnaker clinic on Friday 17 May.
