As a reminder, the [b][i]2015 CHNYC SUMMER SAILSTICE [/b]is just 10 days away. For those of you who haven't heard this is a worldwide celebration of sailing (boating) on the weekend closest to the summer solstice – this year the solstice falls on Saturday, June 20! This event is for the entire CHNYC community--motor and sail! To keep things simple this first time we've chosen [b]Potter's Cove [/b](just across the bay) as our “raft up” location. Solar noon is 10:47 am. Again, to keep things simple plan to be in position at [b]11:00[/b] so we can fire a canon or blow our horns together at 11:00. Plan to have a "floating lunch". Bring something to share. Visit other boats. Make new friends. And if you're willing, each boat can sacrifice a merman or mermaid to Neptune or Triton to ensure a season full of fair winds.
