"Cruise" to Borden Light Marina

This may not meet the strict definition of a cruise, but a few boats from Coasters Harbor have made a voyage up Narragansett Bay for winter hauling at Borden Light Marina in Fall River. Jason Jarvis who owns the J/30 Double J is pictured on the helm of Rhapsody. We sailed with just a reefed main in 20+ kts of breeze from the South and made it in record time. Jason has his J/30 at the marina for a month this summer while relocating it from North Carolina to Kittery Maine. Rhapsody made the voyage up the bay on Sunday 14 October. AWOL, Carolina Girl, Oxiborious II, and Talitha also made the trip up the bay at different times and are hauled for the season. On Saturday afternoon 27 October, Cheryl & Mike Marrone, Larry Newsom, Dick Bernardi & Bill Kneller were preparing our boats for hurricane Sandy. We decided to make a side trip to Portugal for lunch. Well not really Portugal but only one person at this local pub in Fall River spoke English. We captured a picture of the "All American Couple" from AWOL.
