We encourage everyone that races with CHNYC to become a member of CHNYC.
It’s easy to become a crew member in Rhodes 19 Wednesday Night Racing. Contact the Rhodes 19 Fleet Captain (rhodes19@chnyc.us) to be put on this Crew Connection list. Your contact information will be shared with current Rhodes 19 racing skippers, so they can contact you when looking for crew.
To skipper a boat in these races requires certain qualifications. Here’s what you do:
- Qualify to rent a Rhodes 19 keelboat: Contact the NAVSTA Newport MWR Navy Marina at 401-841-3283). Present your prior qualifications, or to sign up for Rhodes 19 sail training.
- Qualify to race a Rhodes 19 keelboat: Contact the Navy Marina and present your prior racing qualifications, or contact the Rhodes 19 Fleet Captain (rhodes19@chnyc.us) regarding opportunities to obtain racing experience.
The above qualifications will be recorded on your MWR Sail Training Record for use when you rent a Rhodes 19 keelboat for Wednesday Night Racing.
Once you are qualified:
- Become a member of CHNYC (required for skippers)
- Go to the CHNYC Wednesday Night Racing web page to sign up!
