Brandon Ritt, a rigger from West Marine will provide instruction covering the types of lines, usage and care. There will be demonstrations and class projects for whipping lines, splicing three strand line and making soft shackles.

Students will be able to select a project to be done under the supervision of the rigger that include dock lines & soft shackles. A homework assignment after the first session requires the student to determine the proper size (length, diameter), color and material to be used for their project. This information will be provided to the instructor and “kits” with raw materials will be provided by West Marine at the next class. The student’s will pay for any materials at the class.
