Augmenting Tripp's post with more information for additional PHRF race opportunities. There is a comprehensive schedule available on the Narragansett Bay Yachting Association website at the following link: http://nbya.org/racing/schedule/ NBYA has a membership / race package deal available that saves you $60 at the following link: http://nbya.org/shop/ The Twenty Hundred Club also has races planned. These are listed on the NBYA schedule. Similar to the NBYA membership / race package, The Twenty Hundred Club has a package deal that saves you $60 at the following link: http://twentyhundredclub.org/shop/

And augmenting the previous augments : ) I also wanted to mention that we are still planning some sort of practice period on May 7th for starting. The general plan is to have some sort of RC or RC-like group with a small line established somewhere close to maybe where the Rhodes run their typical starts. We get a few boats on the water and work through sequences with an immediate return to a sequence after each start. Tripp may also provide some constructive criticism if he isn't sailing his boat too. Please tell your friends -- all boats welcome/encouraged as this isn't about ratings and classes. Meet up at 5:30pm on the water. Shoot me an email with any questions/comments/issues -- echelme@yahoo.com. EC

NOTE TO ALL CHNYC PHRF RACERS: Please use the link in Bill's message above for access to the JYC Race Book/Circular which includes all Notices of Race (all 3 series + Crew Rotation Race), the Sailing Instructions, all JYC race course specifics, JYC calendar & a protest form. Please note that the Entry Form is not in the JYC Race Book/Circular. You can use either Bill's link or the links which you can find at the JYC website on the page marked as "JYC PHRF Racing". It's under the grid of race day result links. That link is turned ON. As of 1737 on 24 April the links to the Race Book/Circular are turned OFF. Also, on the JYC page called "Download Files", the links to the Book/Circular are currently turned OFF but the Entry Form links are ON. Until JYC fixes this glitch, please use Bill's link for access to key 2013 JYC PHRF racing documents. As always, if you have any questions about preparation for the season, race entry and PHRF ratings please do not hesitate to call me! Tripp Tripp Alyn CHNYC PHRF Fleet Captain aaatripp@gmail.com>

NOTICE TO ALL----- The condition mentioned in Bill's last post is intermittent. The links to the JYC RACE BOOK/CIRCULAR at "JYC PHRF RACING" and "Download Files" is once again OFF. The links to the entry form are ON and functioning normally. At present the only link to the RACE BOOK/CIRCULAR is Bill's link in his post at 1301 on 23 April on this thread....thanks Bill...! By the way----a nice bound hard copy of the RACE BOOK/CIRCULAR is available at the Skipper's Meeting at the Jamestown Firehouse at 1900 on 30 April. If you cannot be there please let Bill or I know and we'll pick up a copy for you. Tripp

[u]ALL CHNYC PHRF SAILORS: JYC has finally reinstated their online link to their 2013 PHRF RACE BOOK/CIRCULAR. You can access the link (pdf file) either via the "download files" link in the left margin or by the link to be found under the grid of race days found on the PHRF RACING page. Please advise if you need further help. Tripp Tripp Alyn, PHRF Fleet Capt.

I attended the skipper's meeting on 30 April. There were no race booklets handed out, so you will need to print your own. Changes / reminders for this season: 1. All three center bridge spans are once again open (and the only area you are allowed to pass through while racing) - the keep-out buoys there last year for bridge maintenance are gone. 2. Amendment 1 fixes the wording for advertising. The old ISAF Rule 20 Class A (no advertising allowed) has been changed in the 2013 rules with the same intent. 3. The USCG warning on the shipping channel was reinforced. It's in the race booklet and on the website. Bootom line - don't do anything to cause merchant traffic to sound the danger signal or you will be protested!
