CHNYC has arranged with the Atlantic Captain’s Academy a US Coast Guard approved course for the OUPV “Six Pack” USCG Captain’s license. The Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels or OUPV class is 54 hours of classroom instruction. The course is divided into 4 sections; Navigation General, Chart Plotting, Rules of the Road and Deck General. All materials and testing is included in the cost. Testing will be done in the classroom. You will not have to take any tests with the Coast Guard.. The course is being offered at a discounted rate of $900 per person. The course will be conducted at a Navy base Liberty Center conference room on selected Friday evenings and Saturdays starting in February, through early April.
Class dates are as follows (Friday 1800-2100, Saturday 0900-1600 with 1 hour lunch break):
February 7/8, 21/22, 28/29, March 6/7, 13/14, 20/21, 27,29 If needed – makeup session April 3/4
The class is limited to the first 15 students who commit. We are limiting attendance to CHNYC members and on a case by case basis, friends of members, when the CHNYC member is also taking the course.
