The two-night three-hour sessions will, if passed, earn the students their Department of Environmental Management certificate of boating safety education.
Per the DEM website at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/law/boating-safety-topics.php,
“No person born on or after January 1, 1986 shall operate a vessel that is fitted with propulsion machinery of more than 10 horsepower on the water of RI unless the person shall have successfully completed a boating safety education program…”
