DESCRIPTION:
Want to be a HOST BOAT? If you have a boat at the marina, please indicate if you are interested in being a HOST BOAT in your response! We would like to have you!! Note that your host boat area can include space on your slip’s floating dock. Host boats are not required to bring anything to the potluck. Some hosts do serve a little snack on board, but it is not required.
- To be sure we don’t miss your response to be a Host Boat, please notify Ron & Penny Bouley, ASAP, by text or call @ 774-248-4049 if you are interested in hosting.
- Did you volunteer to be a host boat during the Spring Opener? Please also reach out! We wouldn’t want to miss you as a volunteer. We talked to a lot of people that night and don’t want to miss anyone.
Here’s How it Works:
- Everyone meets at the marina office deck at 4:30 so attendees can be given your boat schedule and directions to the Host Boats.
- Host boats will provide a fun atmosphere for people to mix, mingle, laugh and share stories
- Attendees will rotate in ~15-minute increments from one host boat to the next from 5-7 p.m.
- Listen for and heed the horn (or other festive sound signaling device!), which is the signal to move on to the next host boat party vessel.
- Meet back at the Pavilion at 7:15 p.m. to make our way to the pavilion to continue to mix/mingle while sharing potluck/appetizers.
- Please bring your favorite potluck item or appetizer for sharing
- Bring a friend! Non-CHNYC members are encouraged! Follow NAVSTA Newport Security Procedures.
- Attire: Weather appropriate, Island casual, with shoes that enable surefooted activity (like getting on and off boats!)
- Have fun, make new friends!
