2014 PHRF Racing RESULTS - Jamestown YC
Posted: May 17th, 2014, 3:19 pm
Well, we're off and running...!! Three CHNYC boats sailed in race 1 of the JYC Spring Series on Tuesday. Wind was great and CHNYC was represented in all three of the fleets.
In A Class, EC Helme & his SPIRIT crew sailed to a 5th out of 8 boats in the hot big boat class.
In B Class Bill Kneller & his RHAPSODY gang were 3rd of 6 with RHAPSODY[/b] being the scratch boat for the evening in the all J boat class (for this evening) and making the J-22s & J-24s chase him down. Only two of the J-24s managed to correct out ahead of Bill.....good job!
In C Class, Tripp & the SUMMER WIND boys showed greatly improved speed. Though they finished 5th of 5 boats....they were only 1:42 out of first place and managed to cross last year's 2-series winner LYNX twice on the first weather leg to round just behind them at the weather mark. Lynx gives SUMMER WIND 49sec/mi. so that haulout and extensive bottom sanding has paid off....so far!
The next race day is this coming Tuesday, 20 May. Good luck guys!
(the rest of you CHNYC PHRF sailors....get out there soon, you're missing the FUN!)
