4th of July Bristol Cruise, 2013

Post by motria »

Hello all who are going to Bristol for the 4th of July Parade - We have a lovely turnout so far, and it looks as if 22 people on 8 or 9 different boats are going: Carol and Larry Newsom on "Carolina Girl", John and Judy Sewell on "Summer Salts", Lee and Barbara Tuthill, Tom and Kay McLaughlin on "Hallelujah", Cheryl and Mike Marrone ,Jeff and Elaine Dudley on "AWOL", Jeff Shuldheiss, Cheryl Cox, and two others aboard "White Wolf", Bill and Cindy Kneller on "Rhapsody", Doris and Danny Galli on "Unicorn", and Michael and Motria Benson on "Agape". Michael and I are planning to leave Coaster's Harbor early afternoon, and will have our radio tuned to channel 72 for communication during the trip to Bristol. We will be anchoring near the ferry dock and dinghying in to the dock near the fire station. Several other boats will also have dinghies, and that will make transportation to and from shore easier. Gary and Cathy Holmstrom, our hosts at their beautiful home, 4 Eagles on Hope Street, will be hosting a brunch sometime after 8 a.m. The parade begins around 11 a.m., and afterwards our hosts will treat the group to a barbecue of hots dogs and hamburgers. Please bring your beverages of choice to the Holmstroms, folding chairs to view the parade from the sidewalk (if you have them, otherwise it's standing room only), and a contribution to the brunch or lunch. Pastries, bagels, fruit, muffins, etc. will be good for the brunch, and salads, vegetable plates, nibbles, and the like for the barbecue, and desserts for after lunch are among the items to round out the day's menu. Also on Wednesday evening, July 3, Larry Newsom has made reservations at Redfelsen's (German) restaurant on Thames Street in Bristol for 5:30 p.m, and needs a count of how many people will be participating. Please call Larry @ 401-207-5471 if you would like to join the group for dinner. See all of you in a few days. Motria and Michael Benson
